Dear colleagues,
It is a pleasure to let you know that Ieke Moerdijk, distinguished professor at Utrecht University ( https://www.uu.nl/staff/IMoerdijk ), will be the recipient of the Chaire de la Vallée Poussin 2022 .
The Chaire de la Vallée Poussin was created twenty years ago in honor of the great Belgian mathematician Charles-Jean de la Vallée Poussin (see https://uclouvain.be/fr/instituts-recherche/irmp/chaire-de-la-vallee-poussin.html ).
Ieke Moerdijk will give a series of lectures at the Institut de Recherche en Mathématique et Physique of the Université catholique de Louvain in September.
The first lecture, called the leçon inaugurale and accessible to a wide audience, is scheduled on Tuesday, 6 September, at 4.15 p.m.
More details concerning the scientific programme of the lectures of the Chair and of some other events that will take place in Louvain-la-Neuve during that week will be communicated later on.
